Merrell is an interesting company to me – I definitely know who they are, but admit that I’m not sure if I’ve ever bought any of their products. I’ve approached them about reviewing products here on the blog, but have never heard back. Last fall, Laima clued me into a new social media community they were creating called “The Pack.”
”The Pack lives by one rule: get together and get outside. We are a wildly active group of outdoor athletes, seeking adventure, excitement and togetherness. If you live to get outside, you've always been a part of The Pack. Only now, you can make it official. So trust your instincts. Embrace The Pack mentality.”
Sounded interesting – their Facebook page made it sound like it would be an opportunity to be a gear tester of sorts, by using their products and sharing it via the Facebook page. I waffled about signing up, but Laima did, so I hung back to see what it was all about.
She received a survey form to fill out to get her first gear – they asked for apparel and shoe sizes, so it seemed pretty exciting. After she filled it out, I decided to do so as well and see what happened. We both got a technical tee – nice looking design, functional, pretty good start. Since then, nada. Not sure if we’re not playing correctly, but I would think that products should flow more rapidly, if they want to build momentum. We’ll see what the future brings.
Anyone else join The Pack or hear about it?
