Friday Fluff: Ultrarunning, Paleo, Wine

Ultrarunnng Magazine December 2012

Kind of fun to see, in the December 2012 issue of Ultrarunning Magazine, my name (along with Kim and Rachel's) in the results table for The North Face Endurance Challenge 50K!

What is Paleo?

Delving into CrossFit, one runs head-on onto Paleo eating, which got me thinking about whether or not it could be done as a vegan. Unfortunately, without relying very heavily on supplements (something I don't want to do), it's just not possible. I guess I'll stick with (or, truthfully, more fully embrace) my clean-eating, plant-based, eating plan.

  1. I perked up a bit seeing Paleo in your title. I've been eating primarily Paleo since October. I can't say that I feel any different without grains or (much) dairy, but I've seen a weight change without much exercise and I feel good about eating more real food. But yeah, it's almost the anti-vegan diet with its focus on meat.

    I am with you on supplements. Just not for me. Wise choice on sticking to whole foods.

  4. Awesome being in an ultra running mag!! I once thought about Paleo, even went so far as to buy a cookbook...yeah, never used that cookbook. Oh well. I did end up doing gluten free out of it for a short time, but I love my bread :)
