Laima is giving away an Under Armour Woman's Storm Full-Zip Hoodie over at Women's Endurance Gear! Armour Fleece Storm hoodies and sweatpants now have weather-battling, water-resistant finish to defy the rain -- the water beads right up, yet the inside feels like a soft comfy favorite, very cool. (Don't forget to enter my Under Armour Spine RPM Running Shoe giveaway -- a pair of Men's OR Women's is up for grabs!)
Registration for the 2013 Bank of America Chicago Marathon will open on Tuesday, February 19th. The registration fee is $175 for U.S. participants and $200 for participants outside of the U.S! Laima and I had marked this as her marathon debut, so it's not going to be an inexpensive weekend, but Chicago has long been known as a great first marathon -- it was mine back in 1995, so it's kind of neat that Laima will run her first here as well. Have you ever paid $175 for a race entry?
According to the Mayan Calendar, the world is ending this month. Fortunately, the Oreo cookie says not to worry. :)

Wow. Races are getting outrageously expensive. But I'd say Chicago is a better deal than the Nike women's half in DC, which is $160! Insane.
ReplyDeleteLove that hoody--entered yesterday!
I would have a hard time paying that much for a marathon. You would think you would get some good swag from it, but I have heard from other runners it is not worth it. Unless Chicago is one marathon you have always wanted to run.
ReplyDeleteI'm sure someday I will pay an outrageous fee for a race, but so far, all have been under $75 - though all were pretty short comparatively. Best wishes to your wife on training for her debut.
