The JCORE Accelerated Body Transformation System is a hybrid conditioning and training program that blends incredibly effective cardiovascular, strength, agility and core balance exercises. Now, in just 20 minutes a day, 4 days a week — with a total workout time of 8 hours over 40 days. Sounds like a typical infomercial right? That was my first impression – the magic bullet. But I was so wrong (and Laima at Women’s Endurance Gear can back me up). These DVDs will kick your butt! Even better, this is really a full-body workout – this program really showed me how much I need to work on not just core strength, but balance, flexibility, and strengthening my hips and glutes as well. These DVDs did just that.
JCORE also provides nutritional supplements, should you wish to immerse yourself completely in the program. ZERO-LITE is a metabolism boosting drink mix, BODY-LITE is a snack replacement drink mix, RECOVERY-LITE is for post-workouts, and MULTI-LITE is a multivitamin complex. We enjoyed tasting these products, especially the chocolate BODY-LITE (the family favorite). The only one that was truly not appreciated was the fruit punch RECOVERY-LITE, which tasted artificial and the lurid red color was a turn-off. The meal plan that is provided is simple and appears easy to follow, with several calorie options available. We did not follow the meal plan, simply because we already had some other experiments in the works.
Now, am I ripped, lean, and buff after 40 days? Not really, but, if I had actually followed the actual plan, completing every one of the workouts, eating better, and completely dedicating myself to this, I know that I would be a whole lot further than I am. I will definitely work this 40 day plan into my annual training calendar, using it on a regular basis throughout the year, but also adding sessions before more important events as well. This is highly recommended to anyone who needs a push to get a core/strength program going in their training plan. It still won’t do the work for you, but it definitely gives you the tools for success, if that’s your goal.
