A Toast To A Friend Who Passed

Today, I'm headed to the funeral of a coworker's father. I didn't know him, but my friend has shared so much about him, I almost feel like I did. He lived an amazing life, full of travel, adventure, education, and work, and his children are good people, so he succeeded with that part as well. It's a cold winter day here in the Midwest, but I guess there's never a good time to bury a loved one.

Oh, here's to other meetings,
And merry greetings then;
And here's to those we've drunk with,
But never can again.

R.I.P.

My condolences to you. Dec/Jan seems oddly to be the season of passing on (death). I hate the word death -- because I really see it as the beginning of a new journey, if not into the true reality. So sorry for your friend however. To lose a father is terrible. My thoughts go out to the family who has lost a father. : (
