Awesomer Stuff: Taralites, Sticker, Giveaway, DTV Shredder
Think I'm excited? I got an email yesterday letting me know my review pair of GoLite Footwear Taralites are on their way! "Inspired by the Tarahumara tribes of Mexico, built on the BareTech platform with a zero drop heel, runners can enjoy all the benefits of a natural gait with the exceptional stability and protection of their Soft Against the Ground technology on all terrain. The "second skin" upper provides comfort and lightweight protection from the elements. The internal "sandal" thong and unique closure system provides adjustable fit, security. And energy efficiency by preventing excessive foot movement. Their newest outsole, the Sticky Gecko, is inspired by the gravity-defying "traction" of geckos. The 350 small GripstickTM rubber lugs replicate the tiny hairs on a gecko's feet that create surface contact and friction." Wonder how they'll be in the snow?
As soon as I opened the envelope's seal, I felt awesomer, Matty B had sent me a blog sticker. Chris K is not the only one with a penchant for pink and unicorns. If you are not a follower, head over to MattyRunRun - he's really funny and the only way this blog could be any better is if Sara got more chances to write. Oh, did I mention the "Ban-Jill?"
Constantin over at the Highball Blog (Not a follower? Check him out.) is having a great giveaway where you can win Free Climbing Gear! Not a climber? Lots of the gear has everyday uses or, if you win, feel free to send it my way, I'm always happy to add to the gear closet. Climbing is great cross-training as well, for any endurance sport. Giveaway runs through February 9th.
I found the perfect gear to be comfortable pacing someone at any ultra distance: The DTV Shredder. "The Shredder is the first true crossover for Action and Power Sports. A combination of Tank, Skateboard and Motocross Bike, the Shredder is small enough to fit in the trunk of a car and is All Terrain – All Year. With a top speed of +30 mph, there isn’t anything you won’t be able to Shred at high speed."
You know I'll be writing them to ask for a test-ride!

Those shoes look great! Heh heh...the idea of you in a thong...oh wait, that was the shoes. I'll definitely check out the blogs. Thanks for the heads-up!
ReplyDeleteLove the look of those shoes! Lucky you. And that shredder? That would go over really well with many a neighborhood association, I'm sure!
ReplyDelete1) You disloyal Trekstra shoe wearer! I'm tattling.
ReplyDelete2) Matty loves me and told me from here on out, I will be even more awesome-er. I'm going to post on that. Today even. Maybe.
3) If you use that thingamagig pacing "she", I can guarantee you are going to get an earful of expletives. Plus, you'll probably give her lung cancer from all that trail dust. Just saying.
Wait, I might wear those shoes. Ask them if they want them tested by a slow girl who runs on pavement.
ReplyDeletethat shredder is awesome!! So when is THAT giveaway??? LOL
ReplyDeleteThose are some sweet sounding shoes too
Can't wait to get my sticker in the mail... It's probably at my house but considering I grace that place every few weeks I haven't check the mail. Pretty sure I'm going to hang it in my cube... motivation during the workday you know!
ReplyDeleteThose shoes look awesome. I love the Go Lite products and their corporate philosophy. Can't wait to hear how the shoes work out for you.
ReplyDeleteGood luck with those shoes!
ReplyDeleteI think I need me one of those fancy unicorns.
Those shoes look pretty sweet. I don't think geckos are known for running in the snow though... you'll probably be the first.
ReplyDeleteYou want the Shredder? But I thought you were an all weather, all terrain runner, not shredder! :)
ReplyDeleteIt does look like fun!

ReplyDeleteI too am a lover of Golite!! I am on the list to test out the womens version out later this year! Looking forward to it!
ReplyDeleteMan marketing is so amazing. "Tarahumara" is now a legit buzzword. That said, I betcha I'd like those.
ReplyDeleteThose shoes look awesome! You are so lucky to get to review them!!
ReplyDeleteHa ha..that shredder cracked me up! Can you imagine running on a trail and seeing that thing coming towards you??
What? They make trail running thongs? They provide extra security? Where can I try a pair to review? You've got connections, I can tell. Don't hold out on us!! I may NOT have made the calendar but I'm definitely "in" on the thongs. Size small. Really.
ReplyDeleteWrongo Kovas. I like rainbow unicorn stickers. Those shoes look super interesting. Talk about the latest "fad" in the shoe industry? I wonder if it'll stick.
ReplyDeleteAw sweet! GoLite shoes! Can't wait to hear what you think about them. The awesomeness is booming across the nation as fellow runners open their mattyrunrun stickers.
ReplyDeleteYEYEYEYEYEYE, Lindsay and Kovas preaching the gospel of weird pink unicorns!
ReplyDeleteKovas, many, many, many thanks for all the comments, all the support all the happiness you bring. I know things have been tight lately with commenting but it means so much!
