Just in time for the holidays,
it's EMZ Toilet Paper!
----------------------------------------------------------
Some time ago, I won a giveaway from Tracy at Our Life with 3 Guys and a Doll. Tracy writes about her family, food, and running, all topics near and dear to our hearts. Stop by her blog and follow, well worth the read!
The giveaway was an enormous box of General Mills gluten-free products. "Gluten is a protein naturally found in certain grains such as wheat, barley, rye and some oats. Foods that are made with these grains also contain gluten - that includes foods like bagels, breads, cakes, cereals, cookies, crackers, pasta, pizza, and more. About three million Americans suffer from a serious medical condition called celiac disease." For some reason, in the back of my mind I thought being gluten-free meant a healthy diet. Clearly that is not necessarily the case. Cake and brownie mixes along with frosting, powdered pancake batter, powdered mashed potatoes, etc. aren't my idea of a healthy diet. That being said, it will all taste good and my kids couldn't wait for all the fruit treats coming their way. Thanks again, Tracy!
celiac disease. For someone with this disease, eating gluten-containing foods causes damage to the lining of the small intestine (where foods go after they have been eaten and digested). This damage makes it very difficult for the body to absorb nutrients from foods. Over time this damage can lead to
malnourishment and possibly other complications.--------------------------------------------------------
Another nice surprise in the mail was a sample pack from GoLite, courtesy of Scott at OutsidePR. As mentioned before, I love visors, so that was a great addition to the gear closet. The long sleeve shirt is a must as a base layer as a Chicagoland winter runner, and I am always excited to try out a new hydration product, in this case a waist belt with bottle, pockets, and gel flask. Lots of treadmill and snowy cold trail running and then reviews on all the products forthcoming.

nice. Kovas.
ReplyDeletereal nice.
Seriously......what were the "other" options? I'd love to hear any others. Cacti? dirt?
I think a SMOOTH rock was pretty freaking genious.
I'm thinking gift exchange...oh but that 'paper' would be so $$ to ship.
ReplyDeleteLOL!
ReplyDeleteLove the rocks!
ReplyDeleteGreat gear!
ReplyDeleteThey don't say "EMZ rocks!" for nothing.
ReplyDeleteleave it to the ladies to be resourceful in a tight spot... rocks are now the new leaf on race day. it's gonna be big...
ReplyDeleteI dont get it. Nice luv pack from golite though.
ReplyDeleteHA!!
ReplyDeleteHa ha funny stuff. SUAR's comment too. Loving the Golite goodies though, lucky you!
ReplyDeletecrazy trail runners and their TP...LOL!
ReplyDeleteKovas, this is a little harsh, concidering EMZ was stuck between a ROCK and HARD place at the time. That being said, she is inspiring, or better said she is my ROCK. She gets me high with encouragement, almost STONED. She keeps ROLLING along, almost SKIPPING like a ROCK on a lake.Best of all she leaves all that negative CRAP OUT THERE ON THE ROAD.
ReplyDeleteHave a great day.
I too like visors, even at night.
OK now I get it. But I agre with some, I'd rather use those polished rocks than about a million other potential alternatives. I used a water bottle as a bidet once. That's all I got.
ReplyDeleteEMZ T.P. :)
ReplyDeleteLove the freebies. I've been interested in testing out some gluten free stuff. You can hardly find anything "healthy" around here.
These comments are awesome :)
Maybe if you weren't hounding poor Emz every other post, she'd give you that Run Emz shirt. Oh...but she got her name in the subject line, again...so maybe she'll reconsider. Even if they were so 5 minutes ago!
ReplyDeleteNice swag!
Thanks for the shout out. I'm going to keep rocks and water bottle bidets in mind the next time my stomach rebels. Leaves are my usual go to product - after triple checking they aren't poison ivy. I learn something new every time I visit. Thanks for sharing your wisdom with us!
ReplyDeletewaddup? seems like Christmas came early for ya! woohoo! =)
ReplyDeletenice one!!! love the pic! made me laugh!!!
ReplyDeleteWe tried my son on a gluten free diet. It was very difficult. Anyone that has to be on that diet, I feel for them.
ReplyDeletetotally on board with I thought Gluten free would be automatic me eating well
ReplyDeletenot true i still have to totally watch overeating AND eating gluten free "snacks"
but I love the diet lifestyle it works for me
D
That rock is not going to go away just like ThermoJock.
ReplyDeleteDigging the GoLite stuff. That black and orange is rad. Maybe you should send it to me. Thanks in advance.
ReplyDeletePoor EMZ!!
ReplyDeleteYou are so lucky!! That GoLite stuff looks awesome!
I have a friend with celiac disease - diagnosed and tested by a physician - and she said it's getting easier to find foods that are gluten-free. Your package of goodies confirms it. Being allergic to wheat is a tough thing.
ReplyDeletei love go lite. love love love. pretty sure i'm getting a hydration pack for christmas...
ReplyDeleteThis is great! All I could say when I read EMZ post was "you. used. a. rock. You rock!"
ReplyDeleteA girl's gotta do what a girl's gotta do.
Poor EMZ.
